Manage the selected service and its configuration from the Avatar menu

Use the Avatar menu to manage the selected service and its configuration.

The indicator next to the Avatar shows the managed service status. Green means that the service is running; red means that the service is stopped.

Configuration snapshots save a named copy of the configuration at a specific point in time. Create a snapshot before testing or making larger changes so that you can return to a known configuration state if needed. Snapshots remain available until manually removed.

Important details about snapshots:

  • Resources, log settings and log files are not included.
  • Cluster settings and languages are not included.
  • Restoring a snapshot replaces the current configuration with the saved version. Changes made after the snapshot are lost unless they are available in another snapshot.
  • Give each snapshot a meaningful name and description so that it can be identified later.
  • Snapshots have a small footprint because they are Git-based.
  • When adding files manually to the configuration, only JSON files are accepted. They are added to the versioned configuration the next time you create a snapshot or make another configuration update.

Configuration changes must be deployed before they take effect in the managed service. Deploy is available only when there are saved changes to deploy. Deploying configuration restarts the managed service.

Use the Avatar menu to start or stop the managed service for the Management Center instance you are working in. It does not start or stop services managed by other Management Center instances.

Use Logout to end the current Management Center session.
