Cluster

Configure session clustering for the managed service

Use Cluster to configure session clustering for the managed service. When clustering is inactive, select Enable before updating the cluster definition.

Enable clustering and update the cluster definition.

Cluster configuration concerns internal communication and service state between managed-service nodes. Reverse proxies and load balancers are external infrastructure components configured outside Management Center.

Fortified ID does not provide a reverse proxy or load balancer. In production, use a customer-managed reverse proxy to protect and expose service endpoints and to terminate TLS when appropriate. When client traffic must be distributed across multiple nodes, use a customer-managed load balancer for traffic distribution and failover.

During a rolling upgrade or other node maintenance, the load balancer can route client traffic away from one node at a time. The node can then be maintained or upgraded before it is returned to service and the process continues with the next node.

For static TCP/IP cluster configuration, use stable addresses that resolve directly to individual nodes, not a load-balanced endpoint.
