# Installation

Three options are available: run in a container where Management Center is bundled with the named product or install on  Windows or Linux machine to manage all Fortified ID products.

### General requirements

* Valid license file.
* At least 2 GB of RAM assigned per applications. If you run on Windows for example and use all three application and Manage Center server need 2 \*4 = 8 GB. BEst practice its to have a server with 16 GB RAM. All dependent of what else you run on the server.
* 1 GB of disk space allocated for Management Center. Additionally 2 GB of disk för each controlled product.
* Access to internet is not required but makes life a lot easier and strongly recommended.

If you have an existing installation of any Fortified ID product made before Management Center (MC), note that the encryption method for items such as passwords has changed. As a result, if you install MC on the same machine, it will not be able to start the existing product through MC. If you install MC on a separate machine, you can disregard this note.

Here are two important considerations:

* *Rename the old parameters so they can be created by MC*
* *Make sure you have documented any encrypted password from previous installation*
