# Management Center

Overview of how Management Center is used together with Control.

This page gives a short overview of how Management Center is used together with Fortified ID Control.

The Control Management Center application is product-specific and manages Control only. It follows the same Management Center platform model as other Fortified ID products, but the available configuration depends on the product.

## Main areas

### Management

The Management area is used for product-level administration of Control. This includes information and actions such as license status, product version, upgrades, logs, runtime status, and operational information.

### Configuration

The Configuration area is where administrators manage Control-specific configuration such as Forms, API endpoints, Schedules, Pipes, and related settings. It can also include shared platform configuration such as language files, global settings, and module handling.

## Managing files directly

The alternative to using Management Center is to manage Control directly on the filesystem. Configuration is edited as JSON files in a text editor, while logs, upgrade files, certificates, and folder structure are handled with the file management tools available for the deployment platform.
